Poonam Batra is Professor of Education from the University of Delhi. Her work spans multiple areas of knowledge: Public policy in education; curriculum and pedagogy; social psychology of education, teacher education and gender studies. Professor Batra was a Nehru Memorial Fellow, member of the Indian Supreme Court’s Commission on Teacher Education and co-author of key education policy documents. Her recent research examines coloniality in the episteme of Indian educational reform, comparative education imperatives; and the politics of school and teacher education reform.
Senior Lead (Practice) IIHS, Bangalore IIHS Anchor, TESF-India
Amir Bazaz is Senior Lead-Practice at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS) and works on issues at the intersection of economics, climate change mitigation, and adaptation and sustainable development. His current research interests are low carbon societies/infrastructure, climate change adaptation and mitigation (across scales), with specific focus on urban-climate change linkages and climate, energy and environment policy.
External Consultant, IIHS (Delhi)
Simran has completed a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and Master’s in Education. Her research interests lie in the field of language development as well as the use of children’s literature as a pedagogical tool. She has worked with Eklavya (Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh) for the Reading Initiative. She was involved in the offline and online capacity development of the community facilitators as well as in the development of library-centred language activities. She contributed towards content development for NCERT’s Department of Elementary Education as well as a remotely-based ESL (English as a Second Language) learning-based mobile app. She has also been involved with translations of Learning Curve articles at the Azim Premji Foundation. She aspires to be a writer on the issues related to education, with a focus on language.
